Method:
Simply remove the Butter Chicken Heat and Eat from packaging, pop in the microwave and heat on high for 4-6 minutes, or until heated through.
For the rice:
-
Rinse the rice – Place the rice in a sieve or bowl and rinse under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and prevents stickiness.
-
Measure water – Use a 1:2 ratio (1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water) for regular white rice. For basmati or jasmine rice, use slightly less water (1 cup of rice to 1.5 cups of water).
-
Boil the water – In a pot, bring the measured water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add a pinch of salt if desired.
-
Add the rice – Stir the rice into the boiling water, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid.
-
Simmer – Let the rice cook undisturbed for 12-15 minutes (white rice) or 40-45 minutes (brown rice) until the water is fully absorbed.
-
Rest – Remove from heat and let the rice sit, covered, for 5 minutes. This helps make it fluffy.
