Wayne & Melanie Kennerley are local residents of Karaka, a rural area in South Auckland, New Zealand. “With 3 children who have all gone to local schools and played at the local sports club we know the area well and we hope this helps us to fine tune what the community want.” Both Melanie and Wayne have operated businesses before, Wayne started his first business while at Waikato University, Melanie owned and operated a café after her overseas experience. Having both studied at the University of Waikato, Melanie doing a Masters’ of Science and Wayne a Business Degree, they didn’t meet until they came across each other at the local squash courts. As they say, with 3 children now, ‘the rest is history’. Today their differing strengths work well together, Melanie is passionate about the flowers and wine offered in-store. Wayne keeps an eye on the Snacks and Ice Cream (Lewis Road Peanut Butter his favourite)!
“We enjoy working together and while we may be passionate about different areas of the business, we both have a passion for excellence. It will take some time but we hope we can deliver for the local community not only in regards to what we offer in- store, but in terms of the service we provide.”
“We hope you enjoy what we have to offer, whether you’re a local popping in for bread and milk or you're from further afield coming to check out what rural New Zealand has to offer.
